In the 1990's it was hard to find a big name rock act that wasn't from Seattle, now it's just hard to find any of those bands. The exception to that is Pearl Jam, who are still rocking venues worldwide. Part of their longevity comes from the fact that unlike their peers, nobody in the band died...and their ability to adapt to the rapidly changing music industry.

Apple's Steve Jobs did one of his press conference things yesterday where he rocks the black turtle-neck and jeans and busts out his latest creation much to the delight of those who kneel before him and worship Apple's every move. Yesterday's big announcement, a newer, faster and most importantly cheaper iPhone.

Nolan Bushnel has an impressive resume. He invented the game that started the whole gaming madness, Pong. He started a little company called Atari with just $500 and sold it for $28 million just six years later. He also started the Chuck E. Cheese franchise. We owe singing mice and ball pits in pizza restaurants to him.

Pro skateboarder Tony Hawk, will join the NBA's Dwayne Wade as celebs with their own Sidekicks. I mean, I am sure there are plenty of celebs who own Sidekicks (if they're still using them though, is another question all together) but D-Wade and Hawk have versions of the phone designed specifically for them. |

We can all thank Brett Ratner for introducing us to the phrase "Do you understand the words that are coming out of my mouth?" Now the words coming out of his mouth are "I want to make movies based on video games," or something close to that. Actually according to Joystiq.com the words were "doing movies that come from video games."

Watching TV when it is actually on is soooo 2003. Thanks to technology like TiVo, your crappy cable box DVR, iTunes and illegal downloading you can watch whatever you want whenever you want, sort of.
