Wired with the help of a
Los Angeles
based firm, BigChampagne have compiled a list of 2007's top files traded in the nerd underground known as P2P sharing. Shocking news! The file trading geeks love video games and semi-attractive females.
The most traded movie was none other than Resident Evil: Extinction, a movie based on a video game and stars Milla Jovovich. The P2P fellas might be jonesing for Jovovich but Tek likes his ladies a little less...scary.
The list of top swapped movies also included: I Now Pronounce You Chuck and Larry and Stadust, two movies that won't be seeing any love come award show time. The P2P crowd isn't exactly Ebert and Roeper.
They aren't exactly music aficionados either.
In all of the times I've heard "Party like a Rockstar,"
I don't think it was ever because I wanted to hear it. The Shop Boyz song was unavoidable. Who would ever put forward the effort to find that song when it's being forced on you like Kobe Bryant in a
Colorado
hotel room? The P2P geeks, that's who. ‘Rockstar was the most traded song of the year.
Other songs on the list included: T-Pain's painful track "Bartender," Mims' "This is Why I'm Hot" and Sean Kingston's "Beautiful Girls." Hey Sean, you want to talk about suicidal? If I ever have to hear your “Beautiful Girls” or any of these other three songs again, I’ll be sharing stories with Owen Wilson.
The dwellers of the nerd underground sure have some awful taste. I'd never pay a dime to listen to any of these songs or watch Resident Evil or Stardust, but neither would these kids, so I guess we do have something in common.
