The Bourne Conspiracy, a video game about the trilogy of Bourne movies, is headed its way to video game stores everywhere. It's going to be just like the movies, all the amnesia and guns and shooting of the three action-packed blockbusters - except for one minor thing. That small, tiny little detail that most gamers probably won't even notice is that the guy who played Jason Bourne, a little known actor named Matt Damon isn't in the game.
According to a story in the Boston Globe, Damon's absence from the game might be because his mom didn't want him to do it. Damon's mom, Nancy Carlsson-Paige, a college professor spoke out about the use of violence in the media, especially in video games.
She told the Herald:
"Research shows they desensitize kids to violence, even more because they engage kids in committing violence."
Matt apparently wanted the game to more puzzle-based like Myst instead of a first-person shooter.
Lame!
Gamers everywhere can rejoice that Matt and his mommy had nothing to do with what looks to be a kick-ass super violent thrill ride. Stay at home playing puzzles with your mom, Damon.
