We can all thank Brett Ratner for introducing us to the phrase "Do you understand the words that are coming out of my mouth?" Now the words coming out of his mouth are "I want to make movies based on video games," or something close to that. Actually according to Joystiq.com the words were "doing movies that come from video games."
This comes as good news to those of you who loved the Rush Hour series, a group that doesn't include me. My group: people who kind of liked the first Rush Hour and never really bothered to check out the sequels. You'll also remember he's the guy who directed X3: The Last Stand. Did I say directed? I meant to type ruined. My bad.
Now, Brett is turning his attention to the gaming world. He's already started a branding agency that has done some product placement for Guitar Hero, getting the game in Mariah Carey's video and in American Idol. He hasn't said which game he'd like to turn into an awful movie, but he has very connections with Activision so expect one of their games to get the Ratner treatment.
