History

Dyscern was founded in 2002 by Jennifer Canty. She wanted to apply her experience in consulting and her MBA, but wished to stay at home with her first son. After some research, she started selling MP3 players and PDAs on eBay. She started small, and slowly built the business from her basement.

Fast forward two years. Dyscern now operates out of a state-of-the-art facility in Sterling, Virginia. The company processes several thousand handheld computers and MP3 players per month, with technicians who specialize in inspecting, testing, repairing and refurbishing consumer electronics. Dyscern has forged partnerships with leading retailers and liquidators that have recognized Dyscern's best-of-breed skills in its verticals.

Dyscern operates its storefront and on eBay, where merchandise is sold under the eBay ID: dyscern and eBay ID: dyscern_closeout.
